By now as you are reading this, I imagine that you are in the process of choosing a counsellor. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment, for you to look at the issues that may be causing you anxiety. In an empathic environment, counselling can give you the opportunity, for example, to practice saying what you might not have had the courage to voice before. Maybe there is something you haven’t been able to vocalise, perhaps to someone who is an important part of your life, and the counselling room can be a place to practice things you are finding difficult to communicate. In my experience friends and family can be helpful to talk to about our concern, and problems, but being able to speak to someone who is objective, and won’t try and tell you what to do, and will give you undivided attention, can be an invaluable, life-affirming experience.
